We´re sitting in a train station in Zaragoza, Spain, waiting for another connection to yet another city. Still eating baguettes from the weeks spent in France (I swear they eat ten a day there), we are trying to plan a tour on smartphones. We have seen the ups and downs of touring with backpacks, and in lieu of Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend, we figure it´s a great time to talk about what we are thankful for from this trip.
In the past 4 weeks of travelling through Europe, we have seen eight countries, countless cities, and some fantastic crowds.
Iceland gave us the time of our lives, with high winds but beautiful scenary. Sheep with big puffy coats were fun to run around with - especially the babies - they were so curious. We drove by countless waterfalls and volcanos. We played a show in Akureyri, and if we can make our way back there one day, we will.
Germany was one of our favourite places, with lush forests and wonderful accommodation. Our shows went very well, and our hosts showed us a lot of traditional german food and practices. We even brushed up on our german with the help of a 4 and 9 year old, who constantly wanted to play.
France was such a treat after a lot of countries with language barriers. We were so happy to see the ocean, and surfed in the Atlantic for the first time. We made it to Hossegor for the Quiksilver Pro France, which was such an exciting time!
Overall, even if we have to pull an all nighter because every hostel is full, or eat questionable foods in strange towns, we have been having an amazing time. We are so thankful, and so blessed to be here.
We can't wait to start up the second part of our tour in a few days! Check out our tour page to see where we are headed :)
ps. We booked our flights to Australia!!
